ACCESS TO RESOURCES

Once you require access to the Cafe Church Space, use of equipment, or further funding for a project, there are a few people your team can approach to advise them.

The Waiters

David Grasby (Chair), Glen Powell, Jodie Goldney, Kerrie Tickner (Secretary), Richard Anderson, Sam Pask, Steve Trupp.

The Waiters are a group of 7elected CafeChurchers who serve the community in these ways:

  1. Vision/Big Picture: Stepping back from daily detail, to ensure the vision of the community is being upheld, and to check the health and vitality.
  2. Communication: Helping all teams to share about their activities.
  3. Integration: Looking for opportunities to support and enhance different team projects
  4. Accountability: Ensuring that projects, activities and decisions are in line with the overall purpose and identity of the Co-op and the mission priorities set by the whole community
  5. Allocation of resources: Making final decisions regarding how to share resources
  6. Oversight of Service Teams and Staff: Resourcing people to be part of service teams to cover property, finances, liaison with wider church and other governance issues. Providing oversight for these teams.

Basically, the Waiters are there to serve your needs in whatever it is your Team is trying to do. They are your starting point and your assistants in nutting out how you are to achieve your project ends.

We can also advise you whether you will need to submit a written proposal to the Waiters for your project. This is generally if considerable expenditure is required, regular use of resources is needed, or dates for an event need to be examined etc. See Proposals.

Meetings

The Waiters meet once a month @ the Cafe Church Space.

Elections

The Waiters are elected each year by the community in February/ March. The Waiters are accountable to the community who have elected them.

Everyone in the community is invited to nominate themselves or someone else for election to the Waiters at election time.
